Deer Antler Makeover
Since I grew up in Montana, when the whole deer antler thing became popular? I can say I wasn't too excited. After awhile, when they started adding flowers, I became a fan. I still don't have actual antlers anywhere in my house, but this guy... he caught my attention one day at Target. I knew right away that I would attempt to paint it. (This was one of my "random projects I often come across".
I didn't know what paints to use, so I Googled it. It seemed like acrylic paints would work just fine from what I read. I had a bunch at home that I thought should work. So we bought him and brought him home.
I painted him gold and let that dry overnight, in the morning I used two, maybe three, colors of pink to paint the flowers. My mistake was using the pinks, I don't really have anything pink in my scrapbook room but I didn't have the colors of paint at home that I really had in my mind. I don't know why I do that, but I do. So... I left it and hung it on the wall. My daughters LOVED it. But I didn't really like it. It was like when you bite your lip and then KEEP biting it. (Maybe not that dramatic) But every time I looked at it, I wasn't happy.
Finally I went and got new paints, in corals. Just what I wanted! Repainted it. Annnnd now... Happiness. :)
